Writing Poetry
I recall the former ember,
wherever it flitted off to by now,
probably particles embodying
the bottom of some sea,
with purpose completed
and fulfilled, it can rest
in peace easily.

oh I tell myself to remember
the cause of the disjointing
and the source of separation,
what good dying to itself brought,
of dissipation, of absence,
and the desires that then
ignited, lit and fulfilled...
where I encourage God,
of His own volition,
to do it again,
those wonderful purposes
of His.
but now, temporally,
no more multiplicity,
or as much as we can see,
no more display of fire,
but cinders and ash
on her marred beauty
from the aftermath
of war.
what prince falls in love
with a personified
side effect?
who believes another's
testimony unless they have
witness to their own?

what purpose?
a barren wood
desiring to light up the world:
craving the flame, the arrow
shooting off into the distance,
the igniter, the initiator.
is there no longer origin
for this to be the outcome?
do the digitized cultural waywards
steal all the strength,
turning them to misfires?
have igniting love
and initiating desire gone the way of
the old world, never to be
seen again?

the fertile soil craves the seed,
as even the dead wood hopes
for the flame.
